Danger: First Touch
Sleaze/Glam Rock
Rating: 4.0/5.0

One thing is for certain, Sweden's Danger has the whole sleaze/glam look nailed: more spandex than a 1980's ladies aerobics class, bigger and better hair than Bon Jovi back in the day, enough necessary leather, chains and studs to make Rob Halford go straight, and more makeup than a TV preacher's wife. But we all know, that back in that day, it took more than this make it. You had to have the attitude, perseverance, and most importantly, the musical talent to make it. Honestly, I think danger has both. Their six song EP 'First Touch' is strong effort: a big arena sound with catchy riffs and choruses, a steady rhythm section, and some lightning fret work. This is straight up rock and roll wrapped up in enough raunch, rowdiness and risque like you remember.

First Touch is consistent throughout beginning and ending with some crisp rock and roll on the raunchy 'First Touch' and the rowdy 'On The Run.' However, the best stuff is 'California Red' with its bold riffs, pulsing rhythm, and better guitar work and the down and dirty, 'Shove It,' where speed, melody and great fret work move the song. Honorable mention should be given to Miss Money simply for it's catchy melody and lyrical double entendre. 'Hey You' is good, but I hardly noticed as I listened through the album.

Danger is part of the new wave of Swedish sleaze that also includes Hardcore Superstar, Zan Clan, Leaded Fuel, and CrashDiet among others. The movement could not be in better hands. On 'First Touch,' Danger has the attitude, look and musical chops to pull it off. However, I would not recommend that they walk into a Manowar concert anytime soon. Very recommended.

In Short

Danger is part of the new wave of Swedish sleaze that also includes Vains of Jenna, Zan Clan, Leaded Fuel, and CrashDiet among others. The movement could not be in better hands. On 'First Touch,' Danger has the attitude, look and musical chops to pull it off.
