Reviving classic hard rock for the 21st century for better than a decade is Cambridge's The Treatment. Since their formation in 2008, the quintet has dropped five studio albums, toured with KISS, Motley Crue, and Slash, and played festivals from England to Europe to Japan. Now, The Treatment returns with their latest and sixth long-player, Wake Up The Neighbourhood.
The Treatment sound needs little description, certainly no embellishment. The band is constant and consistent. This is classic hard rock driven by twin guitars, heavy rock rhythm and groove, assertive vocals and big refrains, and massive guitar solos. Their tunes are toe-tapping and headbanging rock n roll which also blurs the line with classic heavy metal edge.
Do you have a backyard kegger or frat party planned? Maybe you just want to wake up your block and piss off your neighbors. Wake Up The Neighbourhood would be the perfect soundtrack. From start to finish this album rocks, rumbles, and gets rowdy. Some favorite, balls to the wall, rockers include Man On The Highwire, Back To The 1970's, Don't Make No Difference, and Kick You Around. But the quintessential Treatment-style rambunctious party rocker is definitely Let's Wake Up This Town. Tap that keg and rock out and loud. Alternatively, both Free Yourself and I Can't Wait No Longer have a notable blues groove going. When Thunder And Lightning Strikes turns upon thick riffs and a steady groove until the pace quickens in the latter third.
All said, The Treatment's Wake Up The Neighbourhood is another solid album of their rowdy and rambunctious classic hard rock. Grab a pint and turn it up. The Treatment rocks. Easily recommended.
