All For Metal: Legends

Heavy/Power Metal
5.0/5.0

Is there really any discussion necessary about their musical style? It's obvious. All For Metal. The band name says it all. All For Metal was formed by two vocalists, Tim "Tetzel" Schmidt (Asenblut)and Antonio Calanna, formerly of DeVicious. Both men have a love for classic heavy power metal. Since their formation in 2022, the band has dropped, count them, six video singles from 2022 through 2023. Legends is their debut album for AFM Music. Curious, no? AFM, All For Metal.

All For Metal

If I could summarize All For Metal, I would describe them as modern Manowar but with two female guitarists. Yup, that's right. The principal guitarists with "keep it true" metal chops are gals: Ursula Zanichelli and Jasmin Pabst. Moreover, add to the fact that both vocalists are muscular beefcakes. (Schmidt offering deeper tones; Calanna delivering vocal melody and harmony). Now throw in leather, pagan face paint, and medieval masks, then songs about Thor, Valhalla, Goddesses of War, and all things Viking and my analogy is complete.

Essentially then, All For Metal nails it. They deliver bombastic and epic power metal with twin guitar power, a galloping rhythm section, gang choral vocals, and blistering guitar solos. As the first song, and title cut, reminds us: it's all for metal, metal for all. It's hard charging and non-stop metal mayhem with one exception. Terrific headbanging fist pumpers abound including Mountain Of Power, Raise Your Hammer, All For Metal, and Born In Valhalla. The Day Of Hammerfall makes me wonder if it was an homage to the iconic Swedish power metal band. The exception is the closing Legends Never Die, essentially milder, steady pacing, metal anthem with a touch of acoustic guitar.

Simply put, if you enjoy classic, twin guitar driven, heavy power metal in the vein of Manowar (et al) with exceptional vocals, you will want All For Metal and their debut album, Legends. Headbanging metal never sounded so good, a cliché yet guilty pleasure. Easily recommended.
