Perhaps one of the most consist bands that rose from the New Wave Of Swedish Sleaze Metal, Crazy Lixx return with their sixth studio album, Forever Wild. It also finds the band with a solid and consistent line up since adding guitarists Chrisse Olsson and Jens Lundgren in 2016.
Being consistent and constant, you know exactly what you're going to get from Crazy Lixx. Forever Wild is another revival of the Eighties Sunset Strip sound, where melodic hard rock with a metal edge dressed in the glamour and glory of denim and leather. The music of the day, and today, was filled with an abundance of melody and harmony, rhythm and groove, killer guitar work, and catchy sing-along refrains, with all these things wrapped in raucous enthusiasm. Crazy Lixx merely makes this style their own. While all the aforementioned traits rise within their songs, Crazy Lizz are masters at pumping up the melody, the gang vocal harmony, and the infectious chorus.
All these things hold true for songs such as Wicked, Silent Thunder, and (She's Wearing) Yesterday's Face. Catchy arena riff rockers arrive with Break Out and Weekend Lover, and the pace quickens with Never Die. A ballad is heard with Love Don't Live Here Anymore. Something of an AOR anthem comes with Eagle, which offers Crazy Lixx's signature and strong vocal harmonies. The result is simply another excellent and entertaining album of melodic hard rock and metal from Crazy Lixx. Quite recommended.
