When it comes to the customary rock music opinion polls surely no other album has come out on top more frequently then Led Zeppelin IV. And to be honest, it would take a brave rock fan to argue that this album ought not to occupy so many number one spots. After all, Led Zep were without doubt the greatest hard rock act of them all, and this release was almost certainly their finest hour.
To back up this theory three of the albums songs – 'Black Dog', 'Rock And Roll', and 'Stairway To Heaven' are still amongst the most celebrated rock tracks of all time. Without doubt an unprecedented achievement. The remaining five tracks are also classics in their own right, proving that the band had finally found the perfect balance between the hard rocking clout behind Led Zeppelin 'II' and the folk based acoustics of their previous album.
Led Zeppelin 'IV' oozes brilliance from every pore, from the stop, start swagger of 'Black Dog' (regularly imitated, but never bettered) and the killer groove of 'Rock And Rock' to the thunderous finale that is 'When The Levee Breaks'. The band had once again restored their hard-hitting sound via Jimmy Page's tight, snarling riff work, Robert Plant's chest beating vocals and a booming rhythm section courtesy of John Bonham and John Paul Jones. Whilst the hypnotic 'The Battle of Evermore' and the sunny and uplifting 'Going To California' both delivered an acoustic buoyancy to the album.
These two separate styles were never better harmonized than on 'Stairway To Heaven', the definitive Led Zeppelin song that catapulted the band to god like status. Throw in couple of funky laced rockers in the shape of 'Misty Mountain Hop' and 'Four Sticks' and you have an album that still to this day makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. It may well be 38 years old, but I still have every confidence in, once again, crowning this the greatest rock albums of all time!

What most people don't understand is that UFOs are on a cosmic tourist route. That's why they're always seen in Arizona, Scotland, and New Mexico. Another thing to consider is that all three of those destinations are good places to play golf. So there's possibly some connection between aliens and golf.
