Last year, among his many other accolades, Matthias Sturm was nominated for the 10th Independent Music Awards (IMAs) in the Short Form Music Video for “Blood And Thunder,” the title track from his debut full length album. Considering his status as a musical citizen of the world, it’s no surprise that he chose the dreamy John Lennon and Pink Floyd influenced global harmony song “Peace on Earth” as the unofficial lead single. The tune is gaining airplay from Triple AAA stations in the U.S. to outlets in India and Dubai. Sturm will be headlining a tour in Dubai the last quarter of 2012 in association with W.O.A International, the Dubai Cable Networks, VH1 and with the support of the Rolling Stone (Middle East). Dutch progressive rock band Knight Area on tour in the US in May

We are very pleased and proud to announce that for the first time the Dutch Prog Rock band Knight Area will be touring in the US for one week as of 6 May 2012!
Knight Area was founded in 2004 and has released 5 albums (by Laser’s Edge, US) so far and is highly recognized by the European and US press. Their music consists of ballads and rock songs and is inspired by Arena, Marillion, early Genesis, IQ and Dream Theater. (more…)

Seventies rock pioneer Michael Stanley to release new CD ‘The Hang’

Much to the excitement of fans and music critics worldwide, music legend Michael Stanley will be releasing his 25th album ‘The Hang’ on March 2012 on ItsAboutMusic.com. From the mid ’70s to the mid ’80s, the Michael Stanley Band enjoyed a strong and fiercely loyal following, touring with some of the superstar bands of that period including Bruce Springsteen, The Eagles, Foreigner and The Doobie Brothers. With over 70 minutes of music, the latest CD from Michael Stanley features twelve new original compositions and covers of songs written by Dire Strait’s Mark Knopfler and songwriter extraordinaire Patty Griffin. Once again the album was mixed by legendary Bill Szymczyk and features the talents of Michael’s road band, The Resonators throughout. (more…)
