Award winning guitarist Jake Dreyer releases his debut EP “In the Shadows of Madness”

Award winning metal guitarist Jake Dreyer has just released his debut solo EP “In the Shadows of Madness” showcasing his many years of study under such masters as David “The Shred Demon” Shankle (DSG, Ex-Manowar), Chris Broderick (Megadeth, Ex-Jag Panzer, Nevermore) and Rusty Cooley (Outworld). Throughout his years of playing, Jake has been named Jagermeister’s 2009 and 2008 best guitarist of the year, Stoli/Budweisers 2007 best guitarist of the year, and was a 2009 IMA finalist for his song “WAR PATH” with his former band DeadRingers Guild. Along with these titles he has performed hundreds of shows in front of thousands of people, and has recorded one full length album and four EP’s with his various projects over the years. (more…)

James Sera trades rock for solo acoustic guitar for his debut album Reality of the Fantasy

James Sera Reaity of the FantasySeveral years ago, when James Sera decided on a new musical direction away from his past as a rock-based electric guitarist, he took the initiative to approach a renowned kindred spirit that he knew could relate to the melodic solo acoustic songs he was writing.

Sera, a onetime Guitar Institute of Technology (GIT) student, cited a lot of the same influences as new age acoustic guitar legend Will Ackerman, who founded the seminal Windham Hill label in the early 80s: French composer Erik Satie and 20th Century steel string acoustic pioneers John Fahey and Robbie Basho. Though originally Sera had been working on an album that was more primitive, psychedelic and rock-acoustic oriented, Ackerman’s input ultimately helped shape the more intimate vibe of Sera’s debut album that truly lives up to its provocative title Reality of the Fantasy.
