July 16, 2012 – Nashville, TN — Coming off of a highly successful 2011 marked by the release of the critically acclaimed “Testimony 2” and an enthusiastically attended tour throughout the U.S., Mexico and Europe, Neal Morse could easily have justified going on a creative hiatus to catch his breath. The Paul Kantner Science Fiction Rock & Roll Motion Picture Show!
June 26, 2012 – London, UK – “Roswell UFO Parade & Festival Hosts Jefferson Starship Sci-Fi Extravaganza” read the headlines for the annual July 3rd event that took place in Roswell, New Mexico in 2009. Jefferson Airplane founder Paul Kantner and his legendary band Jefferson Starship and special guests, which included original Grateful Dead keyboardist Tom Constanten, performed a one-of-a-kind sci-fi concert at Pearson Auditorium in Roswell in honor of the town’s famed annual parade. The group was also bestowed the honor of being the parade’s ‘Grand Martians’ that year and rode atop a special float especially built for them. The entire concert was filmed and recorded, and in addition to such iconic hits as “White Rabbit”, “Somebody To Love”, “Volunteers”, “Wooden Ships” recorded by its forebear Jefferson Airplane (the last two penned by Kantner), a special programme of science fiction themed compositions and select recordings were performed, some for the first time ever! Now, much to the excitement of Jefferson Starship fans across the globe UK’s Gonzo MultiMedia is releasing the the entire concert in an extravagant 4-CD box set. (more…)

On Art Kenyon’s cleverly assembled Sonicbids promo page, the Vancouver, BC based singer-songwriter takes a spirited, tongue in cheek approach in describing the searing, emotional alternative rock energy that infuses the six tracks on his debut EP Cocoon. In part, he writes: “Art Kenyon is fun for the whole family…(but) isn’t recommended for pregnant women (your unborn children may jam out of your stomach)…Side effects include head banging.” His introduction may be lighthearted, but when it comes to his career, he’s dead serious and focused—He has no regrets about dropping out of the University of British Columbia after two years as a psych/philosophy major to pursue his musical goals.
