In 2005 the name EMERGENCY GATE was heard for the first time. Not long after that, the young band with high musical potential produced their first album “Nightly Ray” with well known producer Spike Streefkerk (Mellissa Etheridge, Def Leppard, Phil Collins etc.). Metal Heart Magazine titled even the rough mix of the record as its “Album of the month”. Following that recognition, the band caught the eye of record label TEC/Universal and eventually signed a deal with the label. (more…)

Sinocence will release a special edition of Scar Obscura November 1 on Metalbox Recordings

Sinocence will release a Special Edition of ‘Scar Obscura’ on 1 November 2010.   The album will be released on Metalbox Recordings and distributed by Code7, and Plastic Head Media for digital.   The Special Edition Multimedia CD will include the 10 tracks from the original album, a Feature on the making of ‘Scar Obscura’ and a photo gallery.  The album will also be available to pre-order from the band’s website. Arjen Lucassen’s new Star One project, Victims of the Modern Age, due Oct. 26 on InsideOut

Composer and multi-instrumentalist Arjen Lucassen has firmly established himself worldwide as driving force in progressive rock. While best known for his rock opera project Ayreon, the multi-talented Dutchman also regularly embarks on musical side projects, which explore different aspects of Lucassen’s musical personality. As his previous project (Guilt Machine’s “On This Perfect Day” 2009) was a relatively relaxed and subtle affair, Lucassen’s muses responded by urging him to record something loud, heavy and anything but subtle for this new release. Thus it was a perfect opportunity to launch his musical spacecraft towards the galaxy of bombastic sci-fi rock by revisiting his Star One project. (more…)
