Dangerdog Music Reviews latest Search Engine Results Page (SERP) rankings for our keywords

September 4th, 2011 by Craig Hartranft

Dangerdog Music Reviews applied Search Engine Optimization(SEO) nearly two years ago. Since that time, Dangerdog consistently ranks high in a results page for our keywords.

We haven’t checked this for nearly six months. So, I thought now would be a good time to check them again. Understanding that Google SERP is fluid, sometimes from day to day, here are the results for Dangerdog’s most important keywords.

  • ‘melodic rock music reviews’ 5th
  • ‘hard rock music reviews’ 4th
  • ‘melodic hard rock music reviews’ 4th
  • ‘heavy metal music reviews’ 10th
  • ‘melodic heavy metal music reviews’ 2nd
  • ‘melodic metal music reviews’ 5th
  • ‘progressive metal music reviews’ 6th
  • ‘progressive rock music reviews’ 9th

These results are impressive for a small music review site with a limited agenda of genres, but an international audience. Greater than 65% of our readers are outside of the United States.

Individual reviews often rank higher, often and consistently in the top five.

Once more: thanks to the many Dangerdog readers and supporters. God bless!

Google search engine results page (SERP) rankings for Dangerdog Music Reviews; still the leader!

March 20th, 2011 by Craig Hartranft

Dangerdog Music Reviews remains a leader in Google search engine results.

Recently, under much media scrutiny, Google changed its algorithms for search results. Google’s objective was essentially two-fold: 1) give people better search results to their queries, and 2) dispatch the crap from ‘content farms’ that offer little useful information. These new mathematical formulas went into effect in February.

Of course, being the owner and editor-in-chief, I wondered how Dangerdog Music Reviews would fare under these new conditions. Any good website manager knows how to work search engine optimization (SEO), and Dangerdog has been kicking ass in this area. Therefore, I work certain keywords. Here’s how Dangerdog fares, under the new Google algorithms, for our chosen key words. (more…)

Though out of our control, we apologize to our faithful readers and fans for this inconvenience. Hopefully, this will not be common occurrence in the future.
